6 DAYS ISTANBUL & CAPPADOCIA TOUR / Istanbul, Cappadocia

We just returned from a dream holiday in Turkey which covered Istanbul and Cappadocia. It turned out to be a very memorable vacation for the entire family, thanks to Yeliz and the Smart Turkey team who planned every detail of the trip so well! The itinerary was carefully thought through and well balanced, to ensure it was interesting for the adults as well as the children. All the guides were very professional and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the cruise across the Bosporus, visiting the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Dolmabahçe, Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern and bazaars in Istanbul, and also the lunar landscape, underground city, beautiful valleys and open air museum in Cappadocia! For foodies like us, the guides also provided excellent recommendations where we could enjoy authentic Turkish food! It was a great cultural experience and we enjoyed spending time with the local folks. Overall a very remarkable experience!

I would recommend Smart Turkey Tours (in particular Yeliz) for travel to Turkey. The tour guides were knowledgeable and courteous. All travel arrangements were met accordingly and to our requirements. There were some transport glitches but never affected our schedules. I wanted to add on some travel time after a business trip in Istanbul. I have had Mesopotamia on my "bucket list" for some time and connected with Smart Turkey Tours to see if they could help me plan a trip. They crafted a personalized trip for me based on their 11 day Mesopotamia trip and it was incredible! I traveled solo with a guide and a driver arranged by Smart Turkey Tours. The guide Selcuk was very knowledgeable and a true host, wanted me to learn about and enjoy the southern part of Turkiye, which is his home region. Because it was a solo trip, he was able to make small changes to indulge my interest in church architecture and old buildings. Our driver Cengiz was a faithful companion and a very kind person. I ate incredible food, saw amazing sites and learned about the complicated and multilayered history of the region. Climbing Mt. Nemrut is work, but worth it! Seeing ancient cities, temples, and mosaics brings the term "fertile crescent" to life. I was a woman traveling alone, dressed as I normally do in pants and with my hair not covered, and felt completely safe in this region. The people here were so happy to see visitors and to welcome me into their communities. I was in the south just three months after the earthquake, there is significant damage in some areas, but it didn't hinder my travel experience. I have been in many different parts of Turkiye and the southern Mesopotamian region is my favorite. My two strongest recommendations: go south in Turkiye and talk to Smart Turkey Tours about what you would like to do. They are flexible, creative, highly communicative, and use really great suppliers. They can shape an unforgettable trip for you.

This tour of Istanbul and Cappadocia has been amazing. I have felt very taken care of by Metin and his team. My balloon ride was cancelled because of the weather and Metin did everything he could to reschedule so I did it before I left. The accommodation is good and very well located for the tours that will take place. The tour guides have been great and all the staff from Istanbul to Cappadocia have been so helpful! I can’t stop smiling it’s been so great.
