The 100-year-old building, the gift of Jewish philanthropist and businessman Nesim Levi-and with an elevator that has traditionally carried people or anything else able to traverse this very steep cliff hemming in much of the neighborhood completely renovated by architect Fehmi Curabiye, and today it's used as a cafeteria to enjoy the magnificent view of Izmir
With its Ottoman architectural style and elegant silhouette, the Clock Tower is one of the symbols of Izmir; as if a bright pearl waiting to be discovered at Konak Square. The 25-metre-tall tower is surrounded by four fountains and was constructed in 1901, during Sultan Abdulhamid II's reign to celebrate the silver jubilee of his ascension.
